2025 Education Program

In 2025, the CLLMM Research Centre will launch a collaborative initiative with schools throughout the CLLMM region, inviting students to engage in a comprehensive research mentoring program. This initiative is designed to support students in fulfilling their South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) requirement, which includes the completion of a Research Project during their senior schooling years. Incorporating First Nations culture into the research projects will be facilitated by including mentorship by First Nations elders or community members.

The program aims to provide students with a unique opportunity to undertake their projects in alignment with established research topics developed by the Centre. This structured approach ensures that the students’ work is both meaningful and relevant to ongoing scientific inquiries within the Centre.

Participants in the program will benefit from the guidance of experienced research mentors who are part of the Centre's science program. These mentors will provide expertise, support, and direction throughout the students' projects, fostering a deep understanding of scientific research methodologies and practices. This mentorship will not only help students achieve their academic goals but also inspire them to pursue further studies and careers in scientific fields.

Through this initiative, the CLLMM Research Centre is committed to nurturing the next generation of researchers and strengthening its educational outreach within the region. By integrating students into its research endeavours, the Centre aims to promote a culture of scientific inquiry and innovation, enhancing the educational experience and contributing to the broader community's knowledge and engagement with environmental and scientific issues.

Are you a year 11/12 teacher interested in the program? Or would like to find ways to get students involved with the CLLMM Research Centre? Email Tiffany Nay, tiffany.nay@goyderinstitute.org for more information on how to get involved.
